Aoife O'Sullivan, a former student of Skerries Community College, has played the part of "Mary, mother of Jesus" in many productions of "Peter's Passion" and also features on the "Peter's Passion" CD. Aoife has recently graduated with an honours degree in Music Performance at DIT Conservatory of Muisc and Drama, where she studied under Edith Forrest and Mary Scarlett. Her most recent musical roles include the part of Chava in the Rathmines and Rathgar Musical's Society production of "Fiddler on the Roof" (Gaeity Theatre) and Julie Jordan in RTE 1's production of "Carousel" (The Helix) with the RTE Concert Orchestra. She has also appeared on TV in RTE's "The Late Late Show". Recent opera roles include Panima in Mozart's "Magic Flute" and Lucia in Benjamin Britten's "The Rape of Lucretia" both with DIT at the National Concert Hall. Aoife is no stranger to awards, winning many prizes at Feis Ceoil, Ballymena Feis and DIT Competitions and last year she was the only female recipient of the John McCormack Society scholarship. She has also given many solo recitals, including one at the National Concert Hall as part of the Feis Ceoil Prize winners Concert Series. Upcomming roles include Mabel from the "Pirates of Penzance" Tatyana in "Eugene Onegin" and a scholarship course in the U.K. where she will play the Second Woman in "Dido and Aneas". She will be playing the part of "Mary mother of Jesus" in "Peter's Passion" at the Iontas Theatre in Castleblaney on 1st and 2nd April 2007.
